Service Benefits

Filed right the first time

A vague dig-area description gets a ticket kicked back or a locator marking the wrong yard. We write each Colorado 811 request with the dig area, the work type and the dates that match your schedule, so the ticket clears the first time instead of the third.

Chased until every member clears

A ticket is only good when every member utility has responded. We watch each one, follow up with the members that have not responded, and tell you which ones are still open before your crew rolls, so nobody finds out on site that the gas company never came.

Renewed before it lapses, on the record

Colorado tickets expire, and a crew digging on a dead ticket has none of the protection the ticket exists to give. We renew before the lapse when the job runs long, and we keep a monthly record of what was requested, when, and what each member said, so you can show it if a line gets hit or a client asks.

What this is not

We file and follow up; the utility owners do their own locates. We do not perform, guarantee or warrant a member utility's marks, and a public ticket never covers private lines: the gas to the shop and the power to the gate still need a private locate. Requests sent less than three business days before the dig may not clear in time.

How many tickets a month do you file? We'll size a plan.

Send your typical month through the request form, or call or text (719) 800-4937, and we send the plan that fits and a firm number.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about our Colorado 811 ticket management services in the community.

Can't I just call 811 myself?

Yes, and for one job a year you should. The service is for the outfit filing five, fifteen or forty tickets a month, where somebody in the office spends hours on the 811 portal, chasing members that have not responded and re-filing tickets that expired mid-job. We take that job off their desk, and the record we keep is one you can hand to a client or an insurer.

What happens when a utility doesn't respond?

We follow up with that member directly and keep following up, and we tell you which utilities are still open before your crew is scheduled to dig. What we cannot do is mark for them: the utility owners perform their own locates, and we do not perform, guarantee or warrant a member's marks. If a member is silent past the deadline, you know it from us, not from a shovel.

Does a finished 811 ticket cover the private lines on the site?

No. An 811 ticket covers the member utilities' lines up to the meter or the end of the utility's own line. Everything past that, the power to the shop, the gas to the fire pit, the irrigation, the sewer lateral, is private, and no utility will mark it. Those lines need a private locate, which we also do, and we can schedule it to land right after the ticket clears.

How much notice do you need before a dig?

Colorado gives member utilities two full business days after a ticket is filed, and some take every hour of it. Send us the dig schedule at least three business days ahead and the ticket will normally be clear when the crew arrives. Requests received inside three business days may not clear in time, and we will tell you that when we file rather than let you find out on site.

What about emergency tickets?

A true emergency, a broken line or an immediate hazard, gets filed as an emergency notification and we follow up with the responding members directly; it is handled per occurrence on top of your plan. A job that is simply behind schedule is not an emergency in 811's eyes, and filing it as one is how people get their tickets refused. Call us and we will tell you which it is.
